Week 6 was very mellow at Rise and Shine Yoga. We read Peaceful Piggy Yoga, and did the yoga set at the end. We learned about famous athletes and performers who make yoga a part of their life, and we learned some new poses. We practiced shoulder stand, lord of the dance and hand-toe. Some of the yogis have mastered the Full Lotus, WOW!! Great job Simon and Nate! Next week we will do a kriya for spine alignment, this will be our first kriya and should be very exciting. Out meditation today was for getting rid of unwanted thoughts; ask your yogi to show you how it is done. Until next week!

Rise and Shine

Another week of partner yoga, YES!!! We worked on using intuition this week when working with a partner. Also, Nolan made up a partner version of the woodchopper exercise, check it out below! For our meditation, we talked about getting our ego and soul into alignment in order to develop into more well rounded people. Ask your yogi to show the meditation. We played the feather game today and worked on using our intuition to determine who had the feather. Lots of great participation today, awesome job everyone!

Yogi Parents

Hi Friends! There is a lively, free and informative phone conference coming up if you are interested in talking with Shakta to learn more about yoga for children and the upcoming Radiant Child Yoga Trainings,. There will be a training in Millis in December.

Yogi Parents

Due to the snow day, we will make up our yoga class on Monday, December, 12th. Let's hope Mother Nature doesn't interfere with our schedule any more this fall!
I have been asked if there will be Rise and Shine Yoga in the spring and the answer is YES!!! Stay tuned for more information and tell your friends!!
Next week I will be sending home order forms for Rise and Shine t-shirts and other apparel. Please email me if you have any questions.
Thanks for sharing your children with me, they are a great group, and they always help me get the week started off on a good foot!

Rise and Shine

Can you believe that we have had four yoga classes this fall? It is unbelievable if you ask me! We have been working on Pranayam (being in your breath awareness) and different types of breathing(long deep, sitali and breath of fire); ask your young yogi to demonstrate these techniques for you and how/when to use them. The snow day delayed us one week, but we were still able to have a Halloween Yoga class. It was a great way to learn some new poses! This week was all about partner yoga. The pictures below show "lizards on a rock," This pose is good for calming, deep relaxation and opening the heart center. Partner yoga was such a hit, that the yogis have asked for more of it next week. I think we can do that! The videos show the yogis playing Shakta's naming game-everyone had a great time! We have done a variety of meditations, all good for getting into your own space. Check out Radiant Child Yoga on Facebook for more information about Radiant Child Yoga and Shakta! Until next week.
