Here are some pictures from our first session of Monday morning yoga! We welcomed back many seasoned yogis and welcomed some new yogis as well. There are 22 yogis in our class and others on a waiting list. I wish we could have everyone, but there just isn't enough space. I have a special meditation planned for this week with the help of my mentor and friend, Shakta! If school is delayed or canceled due to the weather, we will meet on Tuesday morning!

Rise and Shine Yoga
Hurricane Sandy couldn't stop us from our morning yoga practice! We had a great time with some spooky Halloween yoga. We did a half moon on a scary night, a witch's broomstick (crescent moon), scary cats, frog pose (the main ingredient in a witch's brew), creaky gates, troll bridge (tickle table) and some of us even tried to be scary crows! Check out the picture of Luke C-those swimming arms really help! We even learned to breathe like dragons (breath of fire) and how to chop wood to break through anger and negative thought patterns.

Rise and Shine

Another week of partner yoga, YES!!! We worked on using intuition this week when working with a partner. Also, Nolan made up a partner version of the woodchopper exercise, check it out below! For our meditation, we talked about getting our ego and soul into alignment in order to develop into more well rounded people. Ask your yogi to show the meditation. We played the feather game today and worked on using our intuition to determine who had the feather. Lots of great participation today, awesome job everyone!
